General Guidelines for Duke Walk Domain ID registration

Rules

Registering Domain is pretty simple, but please follow some of the rules:
1) Domain names are not case sensitive.
2) Domain Name can have single or more than one words or even a simple sentence.
3) Domain Name can have white space in between words.
4) You can have any defined Unicode character in the words to support internationalization.
4) You can have ' , . - _ . ? ! special characters.
5) You can have maximum 255 characters in the domain name.
6) If your unique command had n word, some can make a unique ID with one more or one less word
7) Don't try to register famous TRADEMARK words like Google, IBM, Yahoo.
Even if you find it available, registering them, may not be good idea
8) Keywords like http, https are not allowed as first word
9) The character / , . \ : is not allowed anywhere in the ID

Configuration Rules

1) You can register any URL you own or not
2) If you are not registering a URL , you can provide static IP address or host name (like bar.foo.com) and port, protocol during registration.
3) You can register any host name like mysite.hostserver.com
4) You can register any port other than 80
5) You can provide any protocol other than http
6) IP address has to be an unicast address
7) Don't have static IP address,no problem. You can programmatically update the server using Duke Walk API

Warning

Remember, Duke Walk is not an official DNS registrar. Registering in Duke Walk shall not lock any DNS name.
